Synergy Exam 2026 registration:
Eligible candidates need to fill out the registration form on the official Synergy Seastar website. The company posts all official notifications and updates on this portal.
For registration, you have to create an account on their website and then click on the synergy Application to apply for the Exam.

Synergy Exam 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Note: Qualifying in the IMU-CET 2026 (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test) is mandatory for final selection and sponsorship by Synergy Group, regardless of the entrance exam marks.
For Engine Cadets Exam Eligibility
- Should be born on or after 1 December 2001 (maximum age limit of 25 years at course commencement)
- The maximum age limit for women candidates shall be relaxed by additional 2 years.
- Should have scored 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII
- Should have scored 60% Overall Aggregate in Class XII
- In case of Diploma in Marine Engineering – Should have aggregate of 60% aggregate.
- Should have obtained 50% marks in English in Class X or Class XII or equivalent.
- Should have completed pre-sea training; or
- Should be in 3rd yr or appearing in final semester of Marine Engineering at Pre Sea training in a Maritime training institute. Also, should have 50% aggregate in 3rd and final year.
For GME Entrance Exam Eligibility
Entrance Exam for Sponsoring of Mechanical engineering Graduates for Graduate Marine Engineer (GME) program
NOTE: Sponsorship is Only for placement of Candidates in IMU approved pre sea training Institutes and DOES NOT INCLUDE FEES for the Candidate.
Eligibility:
- Should be born on or after 1 December 1998 (maximum age limit of 28 years at course commencement)
- The maximum age limit for women candidates shall be relaxed by additional 2 years.
- As on commencement of course the candidate should not be more than 28 years of age
- Should have scored 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII
- Should have scored 60% Overall Aggregate in Class XII
- In case of Diploma – Should have aggregate of 65%
- Should have obtained 50% marks in English in Class XII or equivalent.
- Should have completed B TECH / BE in Mechanical Engineering with 50% aggregate OR
- Should be appearing in final semester exam B TECH / BE In Mechanical Engineering. Kindly note that in this case, selection is subject to meet the criteria of 50% in final results.
For Deck Cadets Exam Eligibility
For XII qualified candidates:
- Should be born on or after 1 December 2001 (maximum age limit of 25 years at course commencement)
- The maximum age limit for women candidates shall be relaxed by additional 2 years.
- Should have scored 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII
- Should have scored 60% Overall Aggregate in Class XII
- Should have obtained 50% marks in English in Class XII
- Should have completed pre-sea training; or
- Should be appearing in final semester exam of the course in Maritime Training Institute
For B.Sc. (Nautical Science)
- Final year aggregate of 55% and should have 50% in English.
- Candidate pursuing 2nd year of B.Sc Nautical Science in recognized marine institutes can also apply.
For GP Rating Exam Eligibility
- Should be born on or after 1 December 2001 (maximum age limit of 25 years at course commencement)
- Should have scored 50% in Class X
- Should have completed pre-sea training; or
- Should be appearing in the final semester exam of the course in Maritime Training Institute
Synergy Exam 2026 syllabus:
For Engine Cadets 2026:
- The examination will be in the online/offline format of duration 3 hours (180 minutes).
- The examination will be of the objective type comprising 200 questions. A total of 100 questions will test knowledge and 100 questions that test aptitude.
- Each question answered correctly is awarded 1 mark and every question answered incorrectly is awarded 0.25 negative mark. Un-attempted questions are not marked (no plus or minus marks).
Testing Areas for knowledge: (100 questions)
- Marine Engines.
- All Marine Auxiliary machinery.
- Machine design and drawing
- Basic Ship Construction and Naval architecture.
- Fire Safety- Knowledge of basic firefighting equipment
- Materials and metallurgy
- Basic Electricity and Electronics.
- Basic Physics and Chemistry.
- Other questions in the knowledge area will be from the approved syllabus of BE (Marine Eng.) / B.E (Mech.), as the case may be.
Testing areas for Aptitude: (100 questions)
- Numerical Reasoning and Data Interpretation. (25 questions)
- Mechanical reasoning. (20 questions)
- Spatial and diagrammatic reasoning. (30 questions)
- Verbal Comprehension. (25 questions)
Question Paper Pattern for Engine Cadet:

Synergy Exam 2026 syllabus for Deck Cadet:
- The examination will be of the online format of duration 3 hours (180 minutes).
- The Examination duration will be 3 hours (180 minutes).
- The examination will comprise of 200 MCQ ( Multiple Choice Questions ) inclusive of 100 Knowledge based questions (Marine subjects and 100 English and aptitude-based questions).
- Each question answered correctly is awarded 1 mark. There is negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer. No marks are awarded or deducted for un-attempted questions.
- Testing Areas for knowledge:
- Terrestrial Navigation.
- Knowledge of navigational instruments.
- Navigation- Charts, Lights, shapes and sound signals, concept of time, position plotting fundamentals.
- Basic Ship construction and Naval architecture.
- Fire Safety- Knowledge of basic firefighting equipment.
- Basic cargo work- knowledge of terms.
- Basic terms associated with stability, understanding of common terms associated with ships.
- Meteorology and Oceanography
- Questions in subject knowledge areas will be from approved syllabus of DNS / BSc Nautical Science
